Chinese Fish & Chips and English Chinese take-away in the middle of Essex
I was visiting a friend who lives in Essex and we decided to do Chinese take-away for dinner. Based on my London experiences of such establishements I was convinced that it would be run by Chinese people. How wrong was I! The girl taking our orders was as English as could be. I was even more surprised when we went to a fish and chips restaurant across the road from the Chinese take-away and discovered that it was run by Chinese people. Funny. And it all happened in a small village in the middle of Essex.
